As part of the Virginia Statewide Disaster Plan for Historic Resources, the Disaster Planning & Recovery Website needed to be an effective and streamlined resource for localities and owners of historic properties to be able to find answers and best practices for pre- and post-disaster response for historic resources.

Project Goals
CPG was hired to create the content for the Virginia Department of Historic Resource's (VDHR's) new Disaster Planning & Recovery Website.
Project Design
CPG provided content, tools, and resources for the website as well as a suggested website wireframe.
Using existing resources, best practices, and experience, CPG provided information and tools for pre- and post-disaster response for Virginia’s historic resources, including a Disaster Recovery Survey form to report disaster-related damages, and a mapping tool identifying the locations of documented historic resources in relation to disaster risk data.
Challenges & Accomplishments
As a statewide resource for disaster planning and recovery, the website needed to address a wide range of disaster information.
CPG successfully incorporated current information and guidance on 6 disaster types that have the potential to impact historic resources across Virginia, including checklists, toolkits, a map, and a survey form for property owners, localities, and organizations to use pre- and post-disaster.
